All About Christopher Smith
|

Born in 1961 to Al and Ginny Smith, Christopher Smith was born. Ginny Smith is a famous watercolor artist in the state of Iowa. Al Smith has faithfully served the community of Cedar Rapids for well over 40 years and has received the coveted Presidential Award by President George Bush for his outstanding volunteer efforts in the city of Cedar Rapids. After living on Kencrest Drive NE near Elmhurst Country Club, the Smith Family moved to 7th Ave. SE, where they would grow up and experience all that the great SE side of Cedar Rapids had to offer. Christopher is one of six children and the oldest of three boys. Christopher went to Buchanan Elementary school (anyone know what business took over for this elementary school?), McKinley Junior High, and Washington High School. After graduating in 1979, Christopher went to Northeast Missouri State (now Truman State) University in Kirksville, Missouri.
After graduating from Truman State University with a B.S. degree in Criminal Justice, Christopher moved to Austin, Texas in 1985 where he worked for 3M Corporation as Security Coordinator. In 1991, Christopher went back to school for two years to get his Post-Baccalaureate in Elementary Education and began teaching elementary school in the Eanes School District in Westlake, a suburb in Austin. After teaching for eleven years, Christopher and his wife moved back to Iowa in 2004. They currently live in Marion, Iowa.
Christopher is married to his lovely wife Kimberly, who is a teacher in the Cedar Rapids Community School District. He has a daughter who is adopted from China. April is seven years old and is a second grader. Christopher and Kimberly also have a son, Grayson, who is almost a year old. Christopher is president of Air 2 O, a water and air purification company selling the Ecoquest product line. He also likes to entertain as a wedding reception DJ with his company, First Dance.
