Want a Free Credit Report?
When you are getting ready to buy in the next two or three months, you want to be prepared when you have your lender appointment. Not withstanding the check stubs, W-2 Forms, month to month debt, etc., your credit history is one of the most important factors lenders look at when determining loan amount, prime interest rate, points, etc.
Go to www.annualcreditreport.com to request your "once a year" free credit report. It will not provide you with your credit score (FICO) but it will give you a snapshot of previous debt, month to month revolving credit card debt, outstanding loans, etc. Sometimes you'll see a mark on your report that is in error, so that you can correct it before your credit report is run by your lender of choice.
